What is a Paint ‘n Sip?
A Paint ‘n Sip is a social setting where you can follow fun, step by step instructions with acrylic paints while sipping on a beverage, alcoholic or nonalcoholic . You choose a painting night from the online calendar , bring some friends and have a blast creating your own masterpiece while cheering each other on. It’s a lot of laughter and fun.
Who we are
Barb is the owner, instructor, and curator of Brushes ‘n Brix. Having been open for 7 years now, we have a painting for everyone at over 200 paintings to choose from.
Barb has worked with painters of all ages from 2 – 97 and finds joy in helping kids and adults learn to find their inner creativity, adding their own personal touches in their paintings. She paints in the hopes of creating a painting for everyone to enjoy and create.
- Yes! Go to Calendar and pick your date and painting you wish to paint. Private Parties must have at least 10 people to book the studio and close it to the public. If you do not have 10 people and it is a regular painting session time, you will have to pay for up to 10 people. Booking at times when no regular painting session are scheduled, please contact Brushes ‘n Brix to discuss the party, time and date. You may choose your painting from Gallery. Send us an email with the dates and painting you choose. Advance registrations are the only way to insure to have the whole studio for your private party.
- Brushes ‘n Brix must have a deposit of two painters ($35 each plus tax) to hold your date on the calendar, which is not refundable if you cancel at the last minute as the studio will not have time to refill that date with painters. Those coming to the private party may sign up and pay online prior to date of painting session with the PayPal button, call and leave message that you are attending, or sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org signing up and can pay at the door.
- If you are hosting at Brushes ‘n Brix location, we will provide painting supplies and instruction, but you will be responsible for food and drinks if you wish to have more.
- Off-site parties, in home, or at another location, we bring the supplies to you, i.e. paints, brushes, canvas, pallets, easels and aprons. We must have advance registrations for off-site parties. paid in full. There is no extra charge for traveling to your location but YOU are providing the tables, chairs, beverages (including wine) and snacks. If Brushes ‘n Brix is providing these additional items there is an additional charge of $100.00, paid in advance. Brushes ‘n Brix must have a non-refundable deposit for two painters prior to event to hold the date if painters are paying individually. If you are collecting the funds, these must be paid to Brushes ‘n Brix the day of the painting party.
There are no babysitting facilities at the studio. Ages 5 are welcome so long as they are well behaved, with their adult, and painting. No young children on Friday or Saturday nights (8+ can attend), unless for a private party then all ages can attend. All children need to be supervised or accompanied by an adult at all times if under the age of 8, unless previously arranged. Children must respect the facilities/supplies of Brushes ‘n Brix. Babies are always welcome with their moms.
Yes, we will try our best to seat friends and parties together. Please be sure to let us know when making your reservations in the comment box, or send an email, and we will make appropriate seating arrangements. Signing up early will help to ensure better seats. email@example.com
B.Y.O.B. is illegal in the State of Washington. NO one is allowed to bring their own Alcoholic Beverages. We provide the first glass of wine, beer, or non-alcoholic beverage with the price of your painting. Additional drinks can be purchased at our bar. The LAW allows you to bring an unopened bottle of wine, but we must charge you a $7.00 corking fee, open and pour that wine for you and your friends specifically
Yes. Please email or call and let us know what painting you missed, what dates you may want to paint, and we will rotate it back into one of our monthly painting sessions. We won’t always be able to provide specific dates, but we will try our best to circulate paintings back through the calendar.
We try to keep calendars current and a month or two ahead so you can reserve the painting you want in advance. If you have a specific date and want us to block it off for your party in advance (like a birthday party, wedding party, company party) we can do that months ahead, just send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
A 48 hour notice is required if you cancel and want a refund. Less that 48 hours, there is a $10 rescheduling fee. Private parties that cancel with less than 1 week notice will lose the deposit. Cancellations should be made by emailing us at email@example.com, or calling studio, 509-540-4346, leave message if necessary. This provides us the opportunity to fill the space if the class is full or sold out. We do not give refunds for “no shows” as we have already purchased supplies and arranged for staff. However, give us a call and leave a message, we will try to work with you.
Casual clothes. We do provide aprons, however there is a slight risk of getting paint on your clothes, so we recommend short sleeves or rolling up long sleeves.
We are working on family/children paint times in the afternoons, however, Friday and Saturday evening sessions, unless a private party, are oriented to adults. NO alcoholic beverages will be served to anyone under 21 and ALL ATTENDING WILL BE CARDED, REGARDLESS OF YOUR AGE, it’s the law. We do not want to risk our license. If there are children’s only classes, ages 5-20, check the calendar pages for these specific dates. You can also book dates to paint specifically for children, no alcohol.
We provide everything you will need: A 16″ x 20″ pre-stretched canvas, paint, brushes, easels, pallet, and an apron. We also include your first 6 oz. glass of wine, beer or non-alcoholic beverage and light snacks.
The price is $35 plus tax per session per person unless posted otherwise for a special deal, or a specific painting that may take more supplies and more time. There are smaller size canvas you can choose for Children’s paintings, which change the price – 11 x 14 – $22, 10 x 10- $17, and 8 x 10- $15. You must call or email to request smaller canvas sizes for children’s parties.
Yes, please go to CALENDER and purchase your session from that page. We do not have a minimum requirement right now for each painting session. Maximum painting participants is 20 for each session. Reservations are recommended to make sure we are set up in advance, especially for large groups. You can register and pay online by going directly to the Calendar, pick the painting of your choice and clicking on that button. If it is 24 hours before the painting you wish to attend, please call Brushes ‘n Brix and let them know you would like to attend a painting session to make sure there is room and that we are set up for you. You can pay at the door; we accept cash, check or credit card.
Brushes ‘n Brix is a relaxed, social group setting. Our instructor will guide you step-by-step through the featured painting. Whether you are an aspiring artist just looking to explore your creative side, or looking for some fun alone or with friends, at the end of the session you will be amazed at the artwork you have created. It’s a lot of laughs and fun with friends. We have also heard it is relaxing and therapeutic from some of our painters. Each painting will take 2-1/2 hours to 3 hours, some groups take longer.
